![]() ![]() The MSI card you mention, while only takes 1 PCIe bracket, the heatsink and fan extend past that. DVD drive (and my new wifi/bt M.2 card) should be here in a couple days, and I can then call this beast complete!Īs previously mentioned, there is no true single slot LP GTX 750 (that I could find). Installing OSX was easier than I imagined, and performance appears to be great. My power brick is rated at 10A/120W, so staying below 100W was my goal, else I'd need to order a slightly larger power brick.Īll in all, very happy with this system. I also finally ordered a slot-loading DVD drive for this system, so that'll add a little more. From testing I've seen online, power draw on a i7-7700 is about 5-6W higher than a i5-7600, so I expect to see a max of around 85-87W after swapping the CPU. In fact, I've decided to order a i7-7700 (got one for $275, which is why I didn't get the i7-7700k no intention to overclock anyway) and return my i5-7500 since power shouldn't be an issue (might as well go big here). Clearly my PicoPSU 160W is going to be plenty. With the GTX 745 installed, the PEAK power pull that I noticed (watching my kill-a-watt) was only 78.5W. Without the GTX 745 installed, running the Cinebench r15 CPU test showed a PEAK power usage of 61W. Power draw was another interesting thing to watch.
